Graphic Designer

Requirements
This position requires someone with a wide range of art skills, from graphic design to illustration, producing web designs, motion graphics, logos, print, etc. You need to have fresh creativity, with attention to detail and an interest in what's "hot". No prima-donas please, you need to be able to try new things, but gracefully accept art direction and critique of your own work and make changes as necessary (we know it's hard, but you'll thank us). Your personal style is important, but you also need to be able to produce designs for any client that range from modern and simplistic to arty and complex. You need to be able to work without the need for constant oversite, be proactive with client's needs, be able to "sell" your design decisions to the client, and of course you need to be able to multi-task. Technically speaking, you will be at home in the Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, In-Design). But for web design we generally use the Adobe products formerly known as Macromedia, Fireworks for layout and Flash for animation. Ideally you will at least be proficient in building and animating in Flash (you don't have to be good at Action Scripting, but should be willing to learn). It would also be ideal, but not necessary if you are an otherwise awesome designer, if you can be familiar with CSS for web design and be able to interact with (if not produce) CSS and basic HTML builds of your design (should the need arise).

Tasks
Most of your work will be designing websites. You will work with several clients at a time to come up with design ideas for a mockup of a home page, to establish the look and layout. Then you will build secondary page designs based on the final design choice, as well as other accompanying graphics, animations, etc. Sometimes you may need to help with setting up the CSS for a new site. Aside from web design, you will do other art projects like: logos, print work including things like annual reports, brochures, advertisements, etc.

Benefits
This is a salaried position with health and paid vacation and holidays. Working from home, at times, is an option, if you are a hard worker and we can trust that you aren't slacking. Pay will be based on experience and talent. The target salary starts at $35,000-55,000/yr.




Programmer

Requirements
This position requires someone with attention to detail, the ability to plan for long term code usage and growth, a dash of creativity, the desire to keep learning, lots of proactive initiative without the need for constant oversite, and the ability to really multi-task, among other things. Technically speaking, our new friend will be excellent (several years experience) with PHP and MySQL, pretty good with Javascript, second nature with HTML, DHTML and CSS, preferably comfortable with AJAX and Flash Actionscripting and ideally into other cool new things that come along. You also need to be comfortable getting around our servers through the command line, you don't have to be a server admin, but basic stuff like crontab, apache configuration htaccess stuff, etc.

Tasks
Your work will consist of maintaining, upgrading, and planning the growth of our shared CMS, which is used by live sites on our system. You will also be responsible for some more basic tasks like interfacing with the designers to get a new design sliced up and installed on the system. Plus any clients that need custom functionality, you'll need to plan and build the functionality, either as a feature of our system (that we can use for multiple clients) or if it's obscure functionality, for that client only.
