Print Materials Printed on Personal Printer
Question
Why do my branding materials look different when I print them on my own printer?
Answer
There are a lot of variables involved in printing, from the type of inks used, to the amount of pressure applied by the printer to the type of coating on your paper. It's almost impossible to predict what your personal office printer will do with a particular color. A lot of time has been invested by the printing industry into making regular printing on a press more predictable. We keep swatches that give us a decent idea what a press will do with a branding file that we're preparing. But even that is an educated guess. If you're printing with PMS colors, you can predict even more accurately. But PMS colors neither PMS nor CMYK four color printing are going to match your in house materials. Your office printer is going to do it's own thing. Is there anything to be done? Well, if your royal blue logo comes out turquoise on your office printer, we're happy to try and tweak your materials for your own printer. And with your feedback, we may get pretty close. But there's never a guarantee you're going to get them to match.
